We had thought that producing some matter on digital camera printers would be an impossibility. However, once we started, there was no turning back.

The Camera Obscura: What Does It Relate To?

The term camera obscura arises from time to time in the photoraphy arena. I remember the time I first heard the term but knew not what it was. By the second or third time someone mentioned it in passing, I just had to look it up and I'm glad I did. It won't help you take better pictures and you won't earn more money but will gain some knowledge that starts the knowledge drive and understanding of the principles of photography that much further.

If you don't know anything about the camera obscura, you will after this. Did you ever ask yourself why are photographic devices called cameras? They were called cameras because their direct ancestor is the camera obscura, an optical device functioning on the basis of a simple law of physics. Camera Obscura is the Latin for dark room. It is important to understand it is not an invented mechanical device; it works on a naturally occurring phenomenon. It is like a fire or rainbow.

To fully understand the concept, you can try this out: on a bright day, get into a very dark room (you can obtain the darkness by covering the window with an opaque, but thin material). Make a pinhole in the item that covers the window. If the hole is small enough, on the opposite wall you will see the world outside the window, in full color and motion and turned upside down. Your room is now a camera obscura.

Let's see what is the principle of the camera obscura .When the rays reflected from the bright objects outside (this is why you need to make the experiment on a bright day) pass through the pinhole they do not scatter. Instead, they cross and reform as an upside down image on the opposite wall, or on any flat surface held parallel to the hole.

The principles of the camera obscura have been known since antiquity. Its earliest mention was by the Chinese philosopher Mo-Ti in the 5th century BC. His experiment was similar to the one described above. He called the darkened room the "locked treasure room". Aristotle (3rd century BC) also understood the principle of the camera obscura. It has been claimed that the Islamic scientist Abu Ali Al-Hasan Ibn al-Haitham (also known as Al-Hazen) is the one who actually discovered it while carrying out some experiments in optics, in the early 11th century, Egypt.

In the 15th century Leonardo da Vinci described camera obscura in Codex Atlanticus. It appears that he was the first who discovered its potential as a drawing aid. In the 17th and 18th century artists such as Johannes Vermeer, Canaletto, Guardi and Paul Sandby were known for their incredible attention to detail. Therefore, it has been speculated that they made use of the camera obscura. If you've seen Girl with a Pearl Earring (a movie about how Vermeer created his masterpiece that gave the name of the film), you must remember that "magic box" that Griet finds in the artist's atelier and her surprise when he shows her the way it works.

The camera obscura used by artists was not the rudimentary one described in the beginning of the article. The image quality was improved by adding a convex lens into the aperture and a set of mirrors solved the problem of the upside down image.

Let's now understand how din this simple optical device turn into the photographic camera. The camera obscura managed to get an accurate image of the world outside; the only problem remained recording this image. Therefore, adding a sheet of light sensitive material to the little modified camera obscura was enough. This is the way photography was invented in the early 19th century.

Another use of the camera obscura was for entertainment; some camera obscura rooms have been built at the seaside or in areas of scenic beauty as tourist attractions. Some of them still survive. They are large chambers situated in high buildings. A live panorama of the outside is projected inside the room through a rotating lens. Some of you might ask yourselves what is the point of going into a dark room to look at the reflection of something you can see outside. The interesting thing in this kind of experience is not the view itself, but the feeling you get when you are just a spectator of the world that surrounds you.

Personally, I am absolutely fascinated by the camera obscura. There are many interesting things about it that I did not mention in this article. For instance, with its aid, you can experiment that light travels in time, with speed, and even calculate the speed of light. This was Al-Hazen's discovery. Another interesting thing is that the German astronomer Johannes Kepler used a camera obscura for his astronomical observations. And there is much more to find out about this magical device...

Customer Review: Useless even if you don't care about quality

The other reviewers who commented on the field of view are quite right. At this price you don't expect optical quality, but this binoc gives an image so teeny that quality is irrelevant. It's like looking down a pair of soda-straws. It's my impression that they were actually designed to have a wide field of view, but are manufactured with a ring-shaped baffle inside that cuts out most of the visual field. (Admittedly I didn't smack 'em open with a hammer to check. Just tossed 'em in the trash.)The folks at Bushnell suggested I send them in for inspection and "possible" replacement, but it wasn't worth the shipping...

Customer Review: After 6 months, we're still in love with the picture

This was one of our family's better purchases. The picture is stunning, especially with the right components like an HDMI DVD player hooked up to it (would love to see BlueRay), and an HD cable box, and (my son would say) a Nintendo Wii! We've had so much fun playing games at life size, and watching movies and sports that I really do feel like I've gotten an excellent bargain. The tech specs: it's easy to set up and create custom settings (I recommend using a video like 'Finding Nemo' that has a set-up guide for video and audio on it), it shows a picture quickly enough when turned on, and as long as you don't clean it with something that removes the anti-glare coating it has a pretty decent viewing angle for a rear-projection TV. I use a surround sound system so I'd look to another review if you're curious about its sound quality. One concern I had was that I would regret not going with a plasma or LCD, but I've had zero regrets - great tv! You can't go wrong, especially as they drop in price.

Customer Review: 18 months old and it's gonna cost a fortune to fix

we bought this Sony in July of 06 and now (Jan-08) we have ghosting color bands at the top of the screen that have doubled in size in less than a month. the closest Sony tech is 70+ miles away and I have to haul it up there, pay him $225 and pray it's the Optical Block that's the issue which should still be under warranty (we hope). This is the second Sony projection TV that has died in under 5 years. Shame on me for getting this one. Guess Bush's 'stimulus' will be going to a new TV! don't get one, you'll end up paying for it. just google 'Sony optical block' and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash for Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras

Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash for Canon EOS Digital SLR Cameras

Newly designed to match with the EOS-1D Mark III in terms of improved dust- and water-resistance, body strength, and the ability to control flash functions and settings from the camera menu (EOS-1D Mark III only). Other features include improved communication reliability through its direct contacts, and recycling time is both 20% shorter than the 580EX and is completely inaudible. Optional External power supply - compatible with Dust- and water- Resistant External Power Pack, Canon battery pack CP-E3 and Transistor Pack E Unit Dimensions - 3.0 x 5.3 x 4.5 inches /76 x 134 x 114mm; Weight - 13.2 oz./375g, without batteries (4 AA alkaline batteries add 3.5 oz./100g)

Customer Review: The BEST!!!

580EX II possibly the best flash I ever owned, very powerful. Great fire power with excellent controls and weather seal. The only thing that I wasn't happy about it ----too heavy!!

Customer Review: Great and Pricy Flashgun

I have been using a Sigma flash before that and I wasn't sure if this flash would improve a lot.

I did take the bite in the end and bought the 580EX and have to say that this flash is amazing. Not just the better ETTL function, but the variety of options that lets your creativity more playground is great.

Also the build quality of this flash is much better than the Sigma. the hotshoe as well as the body have a much sturdier feel.

Using a diffuser (I have the Gary Fong Cloud Dome) still adds more quality to this flashes light, but all in all this product is great.

I am not giving it 5 stars because of the price tag. Quality comes at a premium and this is how the world rocks, I know, but for Hobby Photographers the price is quiet steep

ps: For those considering a Sigma flash... if you cannot afford the price of the 580EX, then go for the Sigma. The ETTL is pretty good there as well. The build is pretty good too. The battery usage on both flashes is about the same. The 580EX will give you a wider spectrum of possibilities if you can afford it. Shooting without a flash if you can is much better in any case though :D

Three Easy Steps To Buying The Perfect Digital Camera And Saving Money

The exciting world of digital photography has been expanding at a break neck pace and it is a lot of fun for amateur and professional photographers a like. Digital cameras have taken away the need for expensive film and the delay in time to get your pictures developed. Now a photographer at any skill level can improve their photographs easily by looking at the instant feedback. This makes digital cameras a lot of fun for any skill level. Not only that, but because the development has been so fast the price on digital cameras makes them very affordable. The only problem that you will be faced with is which camera is best for you. Here are some factor to make your decision easier.

Keep in mind that getting a digital camera should take a lot of consideration. Just like buying a car, you have to consider all aspects since this is one thing that you want to work well and would want to have for a long time.

Below are some of the things that will aid you in your decision making process before buying a digital photography camera?

1. The cost.

Ok, so you wanted the latest canon digital camera out in the market. But are you ready to shed the needed amount of money for it?

Cost is a big factor when buying digital camera. It is obvious that the best camera comes with a price. And your budget may not exactly encompass its high cost.

This is not saying that cheap ones are not as good. There are those that you can get for a reasonable price and still works just as well as an expensive one. You need to shop around for the best deal first before you decide on one. Better yet, you can save up on that expensive camera that you wanted all along.

2. The purpose.

Will you be using the camera to shot your family members? Or are you planning to shoot some good photos worthy of a professional?

By knowing what use your digital camera will have, it would be easier to determine the type of digital camera to buy. If you buy a simple one that can be used at home, you will not get the capabilities that you need if you plan on taking really good photographic pictures. On the other hand, it would be a waste of your money if you have the latest digital camera only to be used for personal photos at home.

3. The durability.

Since digital camera is more expensive than the conventional film cameras, you definitely would want something that will stay durable for a long time. You want something that will last even through rough handling and seasons.

If you happen to purchase a typical digital camera you may want to buy some accessories to protect it from scratches and damage. It is best however to get one that is known to have a good quality and durability.

Get the best value out of the money that you will pay for a digital photography camera. Think hard about these important factors first so you will get it right the first time.

Customer Review: Where's my reader?

I got the card but DID NOT get the card reader as advertised. The vendor claimed it was an Amazon promo and that they had nothing to do with the bonus reader, and Amazon failed to admit their fault. Tips on Digital Camera Buying

Things to keep in mind when purchasing a Digital Camera at Auction

By DAVID FORD

Introduction

I have bought and sold many digital cameras both at auction and new from retailers.

When buying a digital camera you should keep in mind your purpose, budget and features and select the appropriate searches to target suitable models.

Some key points are illustrated in the next section.

Items for Consideration

? A larger factor optical zoom at minimum 3x is always referrable than a large digital zoom factor which magnifies the image at the expense of quality. The higher the optical zoom range you can afford the better a bare minimum would be 3x.

? Make sure the number of maximum megapixels is adequate for your needs. The higher the number of megapixels the more expensive the camera will be and the larger the image you can print. For everyday use 5 megapixels is adequate.

As a guide the print size and quality per megapixels is roughly:

Max Print Size Buy a camera with Resolution

4 x 6" 2 megapixels 1600 x 1200

5 x 7" 3 megapixels 2048 x 1536

8 x1 0" 5 megapixels 2560 x 1920

11 x 14" 6 megapixels 2816 x 2112

16 x 20" 8 megapixels 3264 x 2468

? Make sure the camera allows you to adjust the quality of the image to various megapixel settings this will allow you to take more shots.

? Most cameras come with very little memory capability. Extra memory can be bought through auction at very reasonable prices compared to store costs often saving up to 50 %. The more memory you can afford the better. As a guide a minimum of 256 megabyte should be considered.

? If you buy a discounted camera as new from an ebay store or commercial seller it is worthwhile checking with the manufacturer on their website if you can purchase extended warranty. I have had cameras fail just after the 12 month warranty period and have had to buy new replacements due to the cost of an out of warranty repair.

? Ensure the camera comes with software and cables to allow viewing and download of pictures onto personal computers.

? Finally if buying at auction ensure that :

 the seller has good positive feedback scores and selling history.

 pay by credit card for any purchases over $100 to ensure you can get your money back in case the goods are not received.

 Ensure postage costs are reasonable

 If you find and item you like unless it is ?buy it now? out your bid in right before closing to increase your chances of winning.

I?ve had most success with finding digital cameras and related accessories especially memory using auction sites such as Ebay.

Auction site resellers also provide a convenient way to find digital camera bargains using targeted searches.

Customer Review: Good choice

I am using these batteries (now they come at 900mAh) for my baby monitor - it takes 3 AAAs.

The monitor is on up to six hours a day and a set of batteries lasts about a week.

People say that in digital cameras Ni-Mh last longer than regular alkalines, but this was not the case for me. A set of Duracell alkalines lasted a little longer than these and a set of ultra batteries lasted about 10 days. I guess that this is because the monitor is a low-drain device and batteries seem to behave differently when used in a low-drain or a high-drain device like flash or digital camera.

Anyway, rechargable are always a better choice, I am starting to save money already.

Customer Review: i'm going for the eveready 850 mAh

more mAh from the eveready, i'm going that direction.

Buying the Digital Camera thats Friendly to Your Wallet

Digital cameras can be pricey - but they can also be cheap. Who wants expensive, anyway? Instead of immediately shelling out hundreds of dollars for a newly-launched model, learn to buy on your terms. You just need to pay attention to the features and bargains and you can have your own camera according to what suits you best. Here are some tips on buying cameras.

The physical design of the camera is not everything. Admit it, consumers always fall for the physical aesthetics. Just because a camera is small, sleek and eye-catching, doesn't mean it will perform well.

" Know your budget. If you are an average photographer with minimal interest in photography, then a $100-199 camera will probably do just fine for you. If you have a passion for photography and are very particular about your shots, then you can have a $200-900 camera. If you consider yourself a professional photographer, then you can spend more than $900 for your camera.

" How many megapixels? The quality of the photos is the number one query of most camera buyers. A 4-megapixel camera is sufficient for average users with a very slim budget.

" What capacity memory card that will work best for you? To get a sense of the capacity you will need, ask yourself some questions about your lifestyle. How often do you take pictures, and how many pictures do you take when you do take pictures? If you take a lot of pictures at a time, then you will want a higher capacity memory card. When and where do you take pictures? If you go on extended vacations then you will want higher capacity as well and you may want to consider back-up memory for your camera.

" Keep yourself in track with sales and promotions. Almost all gadget stores have year-end sales especially when new models are about to come out. You can strike the best deal when you are not rushing to make a purchase.

" When buying discounted digital cameras, set a budget ceiling and stick to it. However, do not compromise quality and warranty for a cheaper deal.

Here are some additional points that you may want to consider:

If you are not a professional, but still want to have latest technology on digital cameras then ask yourself these questions to help you find the right one for you.

Does size matter? The size of the camera is an important factor for most buyers. Almost always, the smaller the camera, the better.

Do you want to achieve best quality photos? Then check out the sensor photo detectors (mega pixels).

Do you want a camera with a good LCD monitor size? It?s always safe to get a camera with an average size of LCD monitor for this gives you a peek to the photos you have taken.

Does the camera feature digital zoom? Does the camera support manual focus?

How often do you take pictures? Do you store photos in your camera? Remember to check the size of the internal and external memory of the camera before buying. If the memory is not enough, you can purchase additional memory sticks or large capacity memory sticks.

Does the camera support USB? A USB connection is the easiest way of transferring or uploading photo files to your computer when your memory is full.

Can you set your own shutter speed? Setting the shutter speed controls the exposure of the picture. You may not be interested in this now but you may be later so this is a good feature to have.

Can you set you own aperture? The aperture setting controls the size of the shutter opening. Like the shutter speed, this is an advanced feature, which you may want to experiment with down the road.

Does your camera have video features? Videos are great fun, and like most functionality, you might find you use it all the time once you have it!

How much does the camera weigh? Look for a camera that is easy to handle and light.

Inject some practicality when spending your money. Hype is not everything. Just because a certain digital camera brand is getting all the attention in the media, does not mean you have to have it. Know what you want and what you need. It only takes a few hours to make a research and comparison of brands. Then you can get a cheaper digital camera brand that can reflect you and your personality.

Zuca Sport Mobile Wheeled Luggage Complete Set - Quilted Lilacs with Grey Frame Plus Bonus Travel Groove Universal Ipod & MP3 Accessory Kit

Zuca Sport Mobile Wheeled Luggage Complete Set - Quilted Lilacs with Grey Frame Plus Bonus Travel Groove Universal Ipod & MP3 Accessory Kit
The Frame: - Dimensions: 18" Tall x 14" Long x 10" Wide (12" wide with wheels) - Light and strong 3003-H14 aluminum alloy - Telescoping Handle constructed of tensile strength aircraft aluminum - Handle telescopes to a height of 38" - Safely rated at a 300 lb. capacity - Holes in the frame make it lighter while not compromising structural integrity About The Bag: ZÜCA makes the bags from many fabrics but the basic bags in black red and navy are premium 600 Denier Polyester that have been coated on the inside with polyurethane to improve water resistance and seam strength. The bag is water resistant to a point, but should not be left out in a steady rain with stuff inside that should not get wet. ZÜCA uses a very strong type of Velcro (it comes in different adhesive levels) so that the bag is unlikely to come undone due to the interior load pulling on it. About The Wheels: The wheels are 4" polyurethane formulated to absorb a great deal of the shock of hitting a curb, and to make the wheel silent over rough surfaces. ZÜCA makes their own wheels so that they can control the quality of the urethane in the wheel. The flashing mechanism uses no batteries and is powered by a small generator or "magneto" inside the wheel. The magneto rotor is in the wheel and contains a coil of wire wrapped around steel plates. The wire is connected to the LED's, and as the plates pass the magnets in the stationary armature, a small burst of electricity is generated and the LED flashes. The faster you go, the brighter it gets. And what's up with the upper wheels? They are there to make curbs and stairs easy and eliminate the BANG-SCRAPE sound. They don't light up, so if you want to be stealth you can switch uppers for lowers. Our Package also includes the tensile strength aircraft aluminum steel frame. + Plus + as a Bonus receive our Universal Ipod and MP3 Deluxe Gift Set.

Customer Review: An outstanding projector for my classroom

I got this projector for my 8th grade classroom about a month ago and I am thrilled with it. It is bright enough to use with a window-shade open to allow students to take notes during presentations. The images are crisp and the colors remain true to those on my computer. I have projected from my laptop, a dvd player and from a vcr, using a variety of input jacks and all have been more than satisfactory. I took it to a conference and it was light and easy to set up. I would wholeheartedly recommend it for classroom use.

Customer Review: Good from the beginning

I projected in my wall, and voila..it was brigth..and nice.

I like also the way it was designed! look very expensive but it is not. remote is quite annoying, but I dont use it all the time!

Digital Point-and-Shoot Cameras - Choosing The Best One For You

Kodak revolutionized picture taking with the Brownie camera. And then along came 35mm film and the small, affordable cameras. The next supposed revolution in photography was the Advatix film and camera system. But that didn?t last long. Now, it?s digital and it?s is here and here to stay!

The digital camera has come down in price since they first came on the market. A small Nikon 2 mega pixel camera was almost a thousand dollars. Now you can get a quality digital camera (of at least five mega pixels) for less than two hundred dollars. And the quality of images is outstanding!

I often get asked what?s the best digital camera to buy. My answer is always: it doesn?t matter if you buy Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus or Fuji they?re all excellent quality cameras. If you took a picture with each brand of those cameras (of the same mega pixels) you?d be hard pressed to tell which one was the better quality image. What you have to do is try each camera and see how it feels. Does it fit comfortably in your hand? Can you find all the controls easily? Do the controls make sense?

The other question is: How many mega pixels? My answer is always ? what do you want to do with the camera? Are you looking to just take pictures for the web? Then you won?t need a huge mega pixel camera. Do you want to make reprints of your digital files? Then, once you decide what size you?ll want to print, that will dictate if you need a smaller or larger file size. On some cameras you can adjust the file size from smaller to larger. My advice is to buy the most mega pixels you can afford. You can always make the image smaller, but you can?t add information to a file that?s too small already.

Other features you might want to consider is how much control you can have over the exposures the camera makes. Some point and shoots will allow you to over ride their automatic controls and let you make exposure adjustments. Digital cameras are very susceptible to damage by water, dirt and grit, so you might want to look into a model that is waterproof. Another great feature that some of the new cameras have is Museum Mode. When you select this it turns off the automatic flash and makes a slow exposure, which will let in more light in dark places ? like museums.

Last but not least is to make sure you buy a good sized storage card. There are many sizes like from 256 Megabytes to over 2 Gigabytes of storage. The larger the card the more images of higher quality you?ll be able to store.

Choose wisely and you?ll enjoy years of digital picture taking!

Beating the Speed Cameras at their Own Game!

Beating the Speed Cameras at their Own Game!

With more than 3 million motorists being caught by speed cameras, it is little wonder that Britain's motorists are becoming more and more desperate to find ways to avoid the inevitable three points and ?60 fine.

Unfortunately, speed cameras are not always about being safe. So whilst you may be perfectly safe driving along an empty motorway at eighty miles an hour, this does not mean that you will escape the hidden camera.

As a result, many motorists are opting to fight speed cameras with technology, namely speed camera detectors.

Are Speed Camera Detectors Legal?

One of the leading detectors on the market is the Indic8tor that promises to be the ultimate driving experience. But are these tools legal? YES! There has been much discussion about the legality of these radars, but it has been decided, finally, that they are perfectly legal accessories.

Currently, there is a bill going through Parliament that may make certain types of detectors illegal. However, the mainstream type of detector, like the Indic8tor, is likely to be sound for many years to come!

How do Speed Detectors Work?

A detector can work in one of three ways, through laser detection, radar detection or through GPS (Global Positioning Satellite). The latter type alerts drivers to the location of cameras, regardless of whether they are in operation or not. These types of detectors are thought of as fully compatible with the Government's policy of having highly visible cameras and are unlikely ever to be banned. Other types such as those that 'jam' signals are more likely to come under scrutiny in the next few years.

How Does the Indic8tor Work?

Indic8tor works in a way that allows the driver to be alerted to most of the main types of cameras that are in use on Britain's roads. Gatso cameras account for over 90% of all stationary cameras that are currently in use and are, therefore, probably the most important ones to be able to detect accurately. Fortunately, the Indic8tor manages to detect the laser from the cameras in advance. It can, therefore, warn drivers of the upcoming speed camera, while also reminding the driver of the speed limit in operation so that compliance can be maintained.

The second main types of cameras in use are the mobile cameras, which are used by police officers at the side of the road. Again, these are highly dangerous to the motorist as they are, by their very nature, rarely in the same place two days in a row. Vigilance is of course necessary, but detectors such as the Indic8tor will also alert drivers in plenty of time of the upcoming camera and will remind the motorist of the applicable speed restrictions.

Benefits of a Speed Camera Detector

Contrary to some earlier reports, speed camera detectors are now considered to be useful driving aids, which actually encourage drivers to drive well. One of the main reasons for this is that the driver is released to concentrate on the business of driving rather than looking out for hidden speed cameras! By using detectors wisely, motorists can dramatically reduce their chances of a motoring conviction as well as making themselves much safer drivers.
Remember, however, that having a speed detector does not give you carte blanche to charge around at whatever speed you wish - safety should still always come first

The Bushnell Perma Focus 7x50 Wide Angle Binoculars were the ideal choice for my recent trip to Tanzania and the Serengeti. They worked perfectly for the application needed. A really happy surprise on just how well these worked. As we bounced around on dirt roads and cross country in Land Rovers, the Perma Focus feature was outstanding and made things simple and easy! :-) The magnification level was perfect for almost every scenario we came across. Anything that was outside of about 80 feet came through in crystal clear vivid color and clarity. It really made for up close and personal viewing of all the animals we saw. By far, these were the best investment I made before the trip! I can't imagine being without them now on such an expedition. Really fantastic performance and a great value to boot!!!! The vendor was fast & flawless in the transaction too. In my opinion you won't be disappointed with these binoculars. Troy :-)

Bushnell Perma Focus 7x50 Wide Angle Binocular
In a world that's complicated enough, the affordably priced PermaFocus binos are a relief for simple, fixed-focus, long-distance viewing. The wider field-of-view makes them ideal for spectator sports, distant wildlife observation or winter use with gloves. Thanks to quality fully-coated optics the action is bright and crisp and the ergonomic rubber housing means you won't drop them - even with gloves on.

Customer Review: Bushnell Perma Focus 7x50 Wide Angle Binocular

Great binoculars! Very easy to use,,,,,,,, clear and bright! You will be amazed at the quality!

Customer Review: Bushnell Perma Focus 7x50 Wide Angle Binocular In Tanzania

Troy :-)

Home Security Camera

Home Security systems have become increasingly common in private homes and business. If you have ever shopped for a home security system, then you know there are a wide variety of options that you can choose from. These systems range from do-it-yourself kits to complicated whole-house security networks that must be installed by professionals. With the crime rate rising, home security systems are becoming a valuable part of your home.

A lot of home security companies have offered their products and services to insure your home safety. X10, a home security company, has invested millions of dollars to offer you a wide selection of home security products. They have included all types of security systems to cover all of your home security needs from cameras, to alarms.

One of their top selling items is the Xcam2 wireless camera system. The Xcam2 goes for around and it can go inside or outside your home. Moreover, this security camera records everything and you can see the picture right from your TV. Xcam2 is a tiny camera but powerful and it will deliver live COLOR video to your TV or VCR. Below are the 3 main advantages of the Xcam2 wireless camera:

* Great for monitoring around your home or business

* 100 foot range through walls and floors

* Wireless video direct to your TV or VCR!

How to install Xcam2 Wireless Cameras (manual):

* You should have: a camera and its power supply; a wireless video receiver and its power supply; and a video cable.

* Plug the camera?s power supply into a standard wall outlet. Plug the other end into the camera. Remove the protective cover from the camera?s lens.

* Put your video receiver in a convenient place near or on your TV. Plug its power supply into a standard wall outlet and the other end into the video receiver.

* Connect the video cable into the video-out jack on the video receiver and into the video-in jack on your TV.

* Make sure the power switch on the video receiver is set to ?ON.?

* Turn on your TV and select its video input. Use the Video or Select buttons on your TV remote control, or try channel 0 and then Channel Down. The camera?s picture should appear.

* Once the camera and receiver are in place, adjust their antennas so that they face each other. The side of the camera?s antenna with the dot on it should face the side of the receiver?s antenna marked with four squares. Adjust the positions to improve the picture on your TV.

XCam2 wireless security cameras are made so that you can use more than one camera together with one wireless video receiver. You select different cameras using a remote control. The security cameras should be set in groups of four, i.e., A1, A2, A3, and A4, or A5, A6, A7, and A8. You change the setting by turning the dials on the camera?s power supply.

Latest studies have shown that the existence of a home security camera can cut the chances that your home will be burglarized by as much as 80%. In addition, home security cameras can monitor an infant?s room, identify callers at the front door and allow you to view what?s going on at home when you?re away at the office ? or on a longer trip. Having a security camera in your home can provide evidence for conviction if one should happen.

Home Security systems are becoming a vital part of our home and office and not having them will make our home exposed and unprotected.

The Moment It Clicks: Photography secrets from one of the world's top shooters (Voices That Matter)

The Moment It Clicks: Photography secrets from one of the world's top shooters (Voices That Matter)
THE FIRST BOOK WITH ONE FOOT ON THE COFFEE TABLE, AND ONE FOOT IN THE
CLASSROOM
Joe McNally, one of the world’s top pro digital photographers, whose celebrated work has graced the pages of Sports Illustrated, Time, and National Geographic (to name a few), breaks new ground by doing something no photography book has ever done—blending the rich, stunning images and elegant layout of a coffee-table book with the invaluable training, no-nonsense insights, and photography secrets usually found only in those rare, best-of-breed educational books.

When Joe’s not on assignment for the biggest-name magazines and Fortune 500 clients, he’s in the classroom teaching location lighting, environmental portraiture, and how to “get the shot” at workshops around the world. These on-location workshops are usually reserved for a handful of photographers each year, but now you can learn the same techniques that Joe shares in his seminars and lectures in a book that brings Joe’s sessions to life.

What makes the book so unique is the “triangle of learning” where (1) Joe distills the concept down to one brief sentence. It usually starts with something like, “An editor at National Geographic once told me…” and then he shares one of those hard-earned tricks of the trade that you only get from spending a lifetime behind the lens. Then, (2) on the facing page is one of Joe’s brilliant images that perfectly illustrates the technique (you’ll recognize many of his photos from magazine covers). And (3) you get the inside story of how that shot was taken, including which equipment he used (lens, f/stop, lighting, accessories, etc.), along with the challenges that type of project brings, and how to set up a shot like that of your own.

This book also gives you something more. It inspires. It challenges. It informs. But perhaps most importantly, it will help you understand photography and the art of making great photos at a level you never thought possible. This book is packed with those “Ah ha!” moments—those clever insights that make it all come together for you. It brings you that wonderful moment when it suddenly all makes sense—that “moment it clicks.”

Customer Review: Best photo book in years

I read a ton of photography books. This is one of the best in the last several decades. Great personal stories and filled with incredibly useful information that's boiled down to useful little nuggets rather than running on for page after page of dribble.

As a professional photographer I only expect a single "aha" from any book I read. This had dozens! I'm so impressed I may attend one of his workshops.

Customer Review: A must read!

Inspiring!

Joe is one of my favorite photographers. In this book you are able to go into Joe's mindset when he shot the image. But not only that, but he shares with you what he learned as a photographer as well as a human being.

I love his philosophy on lighting and flash... he uses whatever light is available... be it flash or available light. Joe is very practical, down to earth and honest. Great Book!

It is formated into short two pages chapters, with charts, definition of terms, and the image itself. So it is an easy and enjoyable read,

Canon EOS 40D Guide to Digital Photography

Canon EOS 40D Guide to Digital Photography
As the new owner of Canon's most advanced intermediate digital SLR, you want to get started taking professional-looking photographs using all of the exciting features at your fingertips. "Canon EOS 40D Guide to Digital SLR Photography" is a concise introduction and guide to your camera's essential controls and functions, such as Live View, built-in dust reduction, and the blistering 6.5-frames-per-second continuous shooting mode that is an action photographer’s dream. The book provides detailed instructions showing you how, when, and why to make optimized settings with the Canon EOS 40D’s enhanced menus, which include a half-dozen versatile new custom functions. You'll learn about the camera's improved automatic focus, flash synchronization tricks, how to choose lenses that will provide the perspective and effects you want, and which exposure modes are ideal for each picture-taking opportunity. Packed with full-color images and examples that illustrate the recommended techniques and settings for your Canon EOS 40D, this book helps photographers of any skill level begin maximizing their equipment as soon as you open the cover!

Customer Review: The Book Every 40D Owner Should Own

This book covers the Canon EOS 40D from the standpoint of a user, not a software engineer. I especially like how well the 40D's many menus are described throughout the book. The LCD screen description is also very well labeled. The photos taken by the author throughout the book also help to illustrate a number of the functions. I have used the camera extensively, and this book should help photographers of any level get up to speed faster.

The explanation of the Live View feature was also very helpful and worth mentioning because it can be tricky to locate it and make it work properly.

Customer Review: Practical and useful instruction

There are many books on digital photography and books specific to particular cameras. Not infrequently there is a disconnect between the two. David Busch has pretty well succeeded in bridging that gap by combining instruction in digital photography as it pertains to the Canon 40D. Recommended.

Wii Airplane Controller Stand

Wii Airplane Controller Stand
Navigate through the friendly skies with this Airplane Controller Stand. Its flexible and diverse design allows you to play your airplane games as if you were right in the cockpit. The angle of the sand swivels from front to back and side to side, allowing you to maneuver with the slightest of ease. Both the Nunchuk and the controller are placed on both sides of the stand. At the bottom of the stand is a suction cup that provides stability by adhering to any clean, flat surface that the stand is placed. Customer Review: clever idea, but cheap construction

Nice idea, but broken screw and less than strong suction makes this a waste of money. Somebody needs to make this accessory out of a better material than the wii white plastic (hint hint).
